The New Patriotic Party has announced plans to engage with Cynthia Morrison, the former Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, after her decision to run as an independent candidate for the Agona West seat in the 2024 general election.
In an interview on Eyewitness News on Thursday, August 22, 2024, Justin Kodua Frimpong noted that the party would focus on engaging with potential independent candidates rather than merely sending them a letter.
According to him, the NPP’s commitment to unity and its efforts is to bring back members considering independent runs.
“Our mantra for this year’s election is to ‘break the eight.Hence achieving this requires exceptional efforts and ensuring everyone is on board.
Our goal is to reunite all our loyal members.”
Frimpong also reiterated the party’s dedication to unity and its ambition to extend its rule beyond the usual two-term limit, a goal commonly referred to as “breaking the eight.”He
