The New Patriotic Party has announce that it will not intervene on behalf of individuals detain in connection with the parliamentary primary disturbances in Walewale.
During a press conference,the NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong supported the police, emphasising that anyone responsible for the disruption will face legal consequences.
He asserted that, the National Executive Committee will meet on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, to address the situation.
Moreover, Mr Frimpong assured that the meeting would produce decisions to unify the party in the constituency, resolve issues, and secure the NPP’s seat in Walewale.
Kodua Frimpong stated,
“The Ghana Police Service has arrested some individuals related to the incident, and we should let the professionals handle the situation. The party will support the Ghana Police Service, and anyone found responsible for the chaos will face legal action.”
Further, he reaffirmed the NPP’s commitment to the rule of law and internal democracy, insisting that the party will uphold peace and stability.
