The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unveiled the timetable for the rerun of its parliamentary primary in the Walewale constituency, North East Region.
In a statement, the NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong announced that the party will accept nominations from September 2 to September 5, 2024, and will hold the primary election on Sunday, September 8.
Candidates must obtain nomination forms by paying a non-refundable fee of GH₵3,000.00 via banker’s draft to the NPP National Headquarters in Accra.
Further, to officially file their nominations, they must also pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH₵35,000.00 by banker’s draft. Women, youth (ages 18-40), and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will benefit from a 50% discount, reducing their fee to GH₵17,500.00. Those who paid the filing fee during the previous primary are exempt from additional payment.
The rerun comes after the Tamale High Court ordered following a challenge by incumbent MP Dr Mahama Tia Kabiru.
