“Not Ready To Sign Artists To Rockstar Records”-Kuami Eugene

Written by Sarah Boye

Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene has revealed in an interview on Joy FM that, despite running his own record label, Rockstar Records, he is not ready to sign other artists.

He stated that the label will focus exclusively on managing his career until he gains more experience and establishes greater stability in the music industry.

“The Kuami Eugene brand is already demanding. Managing my career alone has been challenging, so adding someone else right now wouldn’t be advisable. Maybe in the future, I’ll consult Richie [of Lynx Entertainment] to decide if it’s time to bring others on board. For now, I have a lot to accomplish as Kuami Eugene.”

Further, Kuami stressed that he wants to achieve major milestones, such as hosting large-scale events and solidifying his presence in the industry, before signing other artists.

“I need to fill a 20,000-capacity venue and establish my own Rockstar shows. Right now, I’m focused on initiatives like *Let the Kids Come to Kuami Eugene* to cement my legacy. Once I get closer to those goals, I can start working with others,” he said.

Moreover, he revealed that some colleagues have approached him to join his label, but he has declined.

“They think I have the resources, studios, and connections to support them. While I’ve made calls and helped get their songs played, I’m not ready to take on anyone yet,” he explained.

Additionally, Kuami expressed his determination to break the stereotype that artists’ careers decline after leaving their original management.
