The New Patriotic Party’s vice presidential candidate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has received forgiveness from the chiefs of Nkroful for his comments about Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
During his visit to Nzemaland, NAPO stopped in Nkroful to deliver his apology in person. He expressed his respect for Nkrumah and his connection to the Nzema people, stating,
“I grew up among the Nzema people, so I would never disrespect Nkrumah. I was misunderstood, and now I am here seeking forgiveness.”
The chief of Nkroful, Nana Kwasi Kutua accepted the apology and acknowledged Nkrumah’s significant contributions to the country.
This follows his assertion during his unveiling in Kumasi, where Dr Opoku Prempeh claimed that President Akufo-Addo had achieved more than Nkrumah, sparking significant criticism.
