Efua Ghartey, the newly-elected President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), has committed to serving with dedication.
In a statement, she assured members of fulfilling leadership. Thus, it declared the end of divisions and factions within the bar, emphasising the need for unity and collective effort.
Ms Ghartey’s secured 1,208 votes, defeating Kwadzo Dzakpasu, who received 1,060 votes. Her victory highlights a significant advancement for gender equality in the legal sector and reflects a growing recognition of women’s contributions.
Her election marks a historic shift, breaking a longstanding tradition of male leadership in the GBA and a milestone for women’s empowerment.
