The Communications Director for the National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi, has announced that the party and its supporters will gather at the Police Headquarters to demand the release of Naa Koryoo.
In his tweet, Gyamfi stated that the police arrested the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the Awutu Senya East Constituency for possessing a gun, which they found in her car.
He urged NDC members to assemble at the Cantonment Police Station to advocate for their candidate’s release.
Police Service report has it that, on Sunday, June 2, 2024, three individuals, including Ms. Okunor, Mustapha Mohammed, and Abdul Aziz Musah were arrested near the Electoral Commission Office at Ofaakor in the Central Region, for possessing a firearm without lawful authority.
However, in an interview on Wednesday, June 5, Ms. Okunor emphasised that the firearm in her car was legally licensed.
