The Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has reiterated the party’s decision not to commit to any peace treaty before the 2024 general elections.
On August 20, 2024, Asiedu Nketia emphasized in a meeting with the National Peace Council that the NDC is not ready to proceed and insisted that President Akufo-Addo must publicly commit to respecting the outcome of the 2024 elections.
Additionally, Asiedu Nketia demanded the prosecution of those responsible for the violence during the 2020 elections and other associated irregularities.
Further, the party also called for an investigation into the missing IT equipment from the Electoral Commission’s warehouse.
