Ghanaian-American comedian Michael Blackson has revealed that his assistant in Ghana is facing threats after he publicly criticised the government’s management of his financial investments.
Following his social media outcry, Blackson reported that his assistant received threats in response to his comments.
In a tweet, Blackson expressed his disappointment, emphasising his deep connection to Ghana and his desire to contribute positively to the country.
“My assistant in Ghana called and told me he’s receiving threats because of my tweets.I return home out of love for Ghana, but I was bilk , and now they’re threatening my people.”
Further, Blackson acknowledged that his remarks might have unintentionally portrayed Ghana in a negative light, but he clarified that he does not hold the country responsible for his financial losses.
“I had invested $1 million in a school project relying on euro bonds that initially promised a 10% interest rate. However, i discovered that due to national debt issues, his returns would be decrease to just 1.95%.”
Despite these challenges, Blackson reaffirmed his admiration for Ghana and its people, vowing to continue addressing the issues he encounters.
