Written by Sarah Boye

Walewale MP Lariba Abudu has announced her withdrawal from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries in her constituency.

In her statement, she confirmed she will not be running for the 2024 elections and has formally withdrawn from the race.

Further, she explained that following an inconclusive re-run of the parliamentary primary, where the Electoral Commission was unable to declare a result due to an unfortunate incident, she has chosen to step aside.

Moreover, Miss Abudu emphasised that her decision is in the best interest of the NPP, as well as to preserve peace and unity within the Walewale constituency.

Expressing her gratitude to the party, she thanked constituents for the opportunity to serve as MP over the last four years and assured them of her continued support in the upcoming 2024 election campaign.

She withdrew just before the National Executive Committee meeting schwhere the issues are to be address.
