The special prosecutor has again seized former sanitation minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah’s money. The former sanitation minister’s bank accounts have also been frozen, again sparking corruption concerns by the Special Prosecutor.
This comes despite a court decision instructing the special prosecutor to restore the seized funds.
“…he has reasonable grounds to suspect that the cash amounts seized from and returned to Ms. Dapaah is tainted property, and it is necessary to exercise the power of seizure to prevent the concealment or loss of said cash amounts,” the statement said.
Madam Cecillia Dapaah has come under heat for allegedly losing $1 million, €300,000, and an unspecified amount of Ghana cedis to her housekeepers.
It was also reported that the Special Prosecutor found $590,000 and GH¢2.7 million in cash during the search conducted at the Abelemkpe residence of the former minister.
