Charles Adu Boahen, Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, has been terminated from his position effective immediately as a result of revelations made by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Investigative reporter Anas Aremeyaw Anas disclosed in a lengthy social media post how Mr. Adu Boahen, who claimed to be the President’s cousin, was doing business with a member of the team conducting the investigation to obtain a $200k bribe for the Vice President.
The article also revealed how the Minister of State had suggested to the businessman (Anas) that he invest in his real estate company in order to receive a 20% cut should his initial idea succeed.
As a result, Mr. Adu Boahen’s appointment has been formally terminated by the president of the country, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, via the director of communications, Eugene Arhin, in a letter.
According to the letter, the President had a conversation with Mr. Adu Boahen and ordered that the Special Prosecutor look into the matter.
