The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced it deployment of personnel to assist the Ghana Police Service in ensuring security during the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.
In a press release dated December 6, Brigadier General E. Aggrey-Quashie, Director-General of Public Relations, announced that the deployment aims to promote a peaceful electoral process.
“Our personnel are assign to locations to assist the Ghana Police Service in ensuring peaceful conduct of the 2024 elections while the Ghana Police Service maintains primary responsibility for election security. the statement said.
Further, the GAF urged citizens to remain calm if they observe military personnel in their communities since this is collaborative approach to ensure smooth and peaceful elections while upholding law and order.
