Written by Sarah Boye

The Commanding Officer of the Achiase Jungle Warfare School, Lt. Col. Jacob Cudjoe, has urged individuals to avoid disrupting peace during the December 7 elections.

In a widely circulated video on Thursday, he warned that the military would take decisive action if the police failed to maintain order.

He emphasised the military’s preparedness, stating, “If I have to step in, I will not negotiate—I will act decisively.” He encouraged voters to cast their ballots peacefully and leave polling stations immediately after voting. “Vote, go home, and return at 5 pm to witness the count if needed,” he advised.

Further, Lt. Col. Cudjoe called on religious leaders, security officials, and citizens to uphold Ghana’s peace, vowing, “We will not allow a few individuals to destabilise the country.”

Additionally, he also highlighted the severe consequences of unrest, warning that violence would cause greater suffering for civilians.

“In conflict, I will still eat, but you will go hungry,” he cautioned, reinforcing his appeal for calm and stability.
