President-elect John Dramani Mahama has announced that President Nana Akufo-Addo has called for a meeting to ensure smooth and peaceful transition of power.
In his victory speech, Mahama revealed that both teams have agreed to start the transition process ahead of schedule, with discussions beginning on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
Further, Mahama urged unity during the transition, emphasising its importance in driving the country’s progress.
“Nana Akufo-Addo just called to congratulate me, and we discussed arrangements for the joint transition team, We agreed to inaugurate the team on Wednesday, December 11,” he added.
This announcement follows the Electoral Commission’s declaration of Mahama as president-elect.
