Mark Okraku-Mantey Urges Ghanaian Creatives To Embrace AI

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey, has called on Ghanaian creative industry professionals to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) to stay competitive in the global market.

Speaking at the 5th edition of Joy FM’s Showbiz Roundtable, themed ‘Manifesto Debate on Creative Economy,’ Mr. Okraku-Mantey stressed the importance of integrating AI, particularly in music and film production, to enhance creative processes. 

“When you think digital, AI naturally comes to mind, especially in the arts and music,” he remarked, warning that the growing use of AI in music production could render traditional roles, like sound engineering, obsolete if industry players fail to adapt.

Further, he urged creatives to adopt new technologies proactively rather than reactively.

“Ghana’s digitalisation centre is to raise awareness and call on schools to embed AI into their systems to prevent the country from constantly falling behind.”He urged

Additionally, Mr. Okraku-Mantey also stressed the role of creative schools in preparing students for the rapidly changing digital landscape, encouraging them to prioritise AI education to ensure future graduates remain globally competitive. 

“AI is a global tool, and delaying its adoption could put you out of business.he warned.
