Veteran actress and TV personality Maame Dokono has addressed rumours about her past and a supposed relationship with the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.
At an event at Silverbird Cinemas in Accra, the renowned TV personality firmly denied ever being romantically involved with the former President.
“Some people claimed I was President Rawlings’ girlfriend. Who said that? I was never his girlfriend,” she stated.
Further, Maame Dokono shared insights about her political journey, explaining that Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings introduced her to politics.
She described the difficulties she faced, saying,
“Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings brought me into politics. I joined both parties, and when your party loses, you suffer, which I did, so I eventually left politics.”
At the same event, Maame Dokono announced the launch of her new book. Thus, a memoir talking about the various aspects of her life, thus : her experiences with Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and her 60-years career in the movie industry.
