Mahama Vows Thorough Audit Of Keta Port Progress

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama, has announced that his administration will conduct a thorough audit of the Keta Port to assess its progress if elected.

During his campaign tour of in Ho, Mahama raised concerns about the need for an additional port in the region.

He emphasised the importance of a detailed needs assessment before moving forward with plans for a new port between Tema Harbour and the Port of Lomé, both of which are major maritime hubs.

Furthermore, Mahama highlighted the need to learn from past mistakes, such as those associated with the Boankra inland port, in order to prevent the Keta Port project from becoming a “white

In addition, he committed to making the feasibility study of the Keta Port one of his first priorities as president and promised to share the findings with the public to ensure transparency.

Finally, Mahama urged all parties to set aside political interests and focus on a clear, objective evaluation of the port’s feasibility and design before making any further decisions.
