The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has vowed to strengthen partnerships with traditional leaders to promote Ghanaian festivals.
Speaking at the Ga Mantse’s palace on Thursday, November 28, Mahama underscored the importance of festivals as both cultural celebrations and drivers of economic growth in local communities.
In a Facebook post after the visit, Mahama expressed appreciation for the warm reception he received from the Ga Mantse, chiefs, queen mothers, and other dignitaries. He also praised the pivotal role traditional leaders play in Ghanaian society.
He pledged to collaborate with chiefs and traditional authorities to increase the visibility and support for festivals. Mahama emphasised that this initiative aims to revitalise local economies, enhance cultural tourism, and spotlight Ghana’s heritage on the global stage.
