The flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress, John Mahama, has proposed reintroducing the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA).
During a media briefing, he emphasized the growing popularity of guinea fowl meat in the southern regions and proposed increasing guinea fowl production to significantly boost many families’ incomes. Thus,pointed out that this misunderstanding contributed to the perception of project failure.
Further, he clarified that guinea fowls do not migrate and emphasised that the project’s true aim was to support rural farmers in the northern regions by promoting guinea fowl production. The initiative focused on incubating eggs and distributing day-old chicks to farmers for raising and meat production.
Mahama addressed the rumour that guinea fowl from the program had flown to Burkina Faso, explaining it arose from a watchman’s offhand remark.
