Mahama Promises Effective DRIP Implementation If Elected

Written by Sarah Boye

Former President John Mahama has vowed that a National Democratic Congress (NDC) victory will lead to the effective implementation of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).

Speaking at a media briefing in Sunyani, Mahama acknowledged the initiative’s potential but faulted its planning and implementation.

He highlighted concerns about the quality and completeness of regional roads and questioned whether the budget for road infrastructure was sufficient.

Further, Mahama identified deficiencies in the current program, including the lack of trained operators and fuel budgets.

Moreover, he promised that an NDC government would improve the program by properly organising and staffing it, providing necessary training and resources, and ensuring adequate funding for road maintenance.
