The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has committed to establishing tractor stations across farming communities in Ghana if elected president.
During his 2024 campaign tour, Mahama addressed supporters and local farmers in Kwame Danso, Sene West District, and Bono East Region and announced,
“An NDC government will ensure that every farming community has access to tractor stations. Sene West will have its own centre equipped with 10 tractors and all necessary tools to simplify farming.”
Further, he detailed that farmers would need to form cooperatives and register their names. Their lands would then be assessed to determine their specific needs. After registration, farmers could visit the tractor stations to receive the support they need.
Mahama underscored that these stations aim to ease the challenges farmers face in obtaining mechanised support and other crucial resources.
