Mahama Pledges To Prioritize Merit And Regional Balance

Written by Sarah Boye

President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to prioritise merit, competence, and regional balance in his government’s appointments.

During his “Thank You” tour in Ho, Mahama acknowledged the Volta Region’s high expectations and reassured residents of their inclusion.

“I recognise the anticipation for appointments from this region, and as I’ve said, so far, so good.”I have not overlooked your contributions and talents,” he said. Appointments will be supervise by merit, competence, regional balance, gender equity, and availability to serve.”

Reaffirming his commitment to the region, Mahama assured the people of the Volta Region.

“The people of the Volta Region have the resources and the will to play a vital role in shaping our nation’s future. The region has long faced unfulfilled promises, but under my administration, this era of neglect will end,” he declared.

The statement follows the vandalism of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) office in Ho, which individuals reportedly carried out in response to the exclusion of a Ho Central native from the President’s recent ministerial appointments.
