The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Mahama has promised to complete all unfinished projects from the Akufo-Addo administration during his campaign at the Bawku Naba Palace in the Upper East Region.
During his address, Mahama emphasised the importance of finishing existing projects before starting new ones to maximise the country’s limited resources.
He expressed his disappointment that the NPP had neglected many projects initiated by the NDC.Thus, highlighted the Tamne irrigation project, which could irrigate 3,000 hectares of land, benefit four districts, and offer local youth opportunities for year-round gardening and farming.
“I launched the Tamne irrigation project and completed its first phase before we left office. Although the current government has continued it, progress has been slow, and the project remains unfinished.
This project will irrigate 3,000 hectares, helping young people engage in dry-season and year-round gardening, reducing their need to migrate south for work.
When we return to power, we will resume and complete the Tamne project, benefiting four districts in this region,” he said.
