President-elect John Dramani Mahama has met with outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, December 11, at Jubilee House in Accra to inaugurate the 2024 National Transition Team.
During the meeting, President-elect Mahama underscored the importance of unity and stability throughout the transition.
“President Akufo-Addo has updated me on internal and external security matters and key economic issues. The transition teams will further explore these topics, and we will work together to ensure a seamless transition in the interest of Ghana,” Mahama stated.
Further, President Akufo-Addo assured Mahama of his full support, committing to a collaborative transition process.
“I fully support President-elect Mahama and his administration through this transition to ensure they begin on the best possible footing,” Akufo-Addo affirmed.
The constitutionally mandated National Transition Team will oversee the handover process. It will brief the incoming government on critical state matters, provide access to essential government data, and coordinate the formal inauguration of the President-elect.
