President John Mahama has officially launched the Adwumawura Programme, a flagship initiative aimed at tackling youth unemployment and promoting entrepreneurship in Ghana.
Launching the programme at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi on Monday, April 28, 2025, President Mahama emphasised its critical role in addressing what he called one of the country’s most urgent challenges.
He explained that the Adwumawura Programme would equip young entrepreneurs with business training, mentorship, funding, and technological support.
“The programme will incubate and accelerate 10,000 businesses each year for Ghanaian youth, focusing on individuals aged 18 to 35, Participants will receive a full package of support, including skills training, mentorship opportunities, access to start-up capital, and the provision of machinery and equipment.”he announced.
Additionally, President Mahama reaffirmed his government’s commitment to creating decent and sustainable jobs for young people, aligning with the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s broader vision to drive economic growth and innovation.
