John Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, has urged Dr Bawumia to instruct the party’s parliamentary candidates to remove their campaign posters from equipment used in the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
At a rally in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region, Mahama emphasized that taxpayers fund DRIP and that it should not serve political purposes. That is, stressed that this equipment belongs to all Ghanaians, not just the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Further ,Mahama called on President Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia to focus on serving the entire nation rather than just their party.
“The funding for this equipment comes from our collective taxes—whether you’re NPP, CPP, Christian, or Muslim, we all contribute. This equipment is for road construction and allocated to districts, so it should not promote NPP candidates.I remind Akufo-Addo and Bawumia that they have a duty to the entire country, not just their party. This equipment is for all Ghanaians, not for partisan use.”
These assertions follow the initiative of DRIP to enhance road infrastructure across all 275 constituencies.
