Mahama Criticizes Compensation For Techiman Shooting Victims

Written by Sarah Boye

The presidential candidate for the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, has voiced his dissatisfaction with the compensation given to the victims of the Techiman South shooting.

At a mini rally in the Bono East Region, Mahama argued that the compensation amount should have been higher. He criticised the incident and pledged to provide additional compensation if elected. Additionally, he promised a thorough investigation and accountability for those responsible.

This statement comes in response to a High Court ruling in Wenchi that ordered the state to pay GH¢270,000 to six individuals injured in the shooting at the Techiman South collation centre during the 2020 elections.
