President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Sammy Gyamfi as the acting managing director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC).
Acting Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, announced the appointment, highlighting the administration’s commitment to economic recovery and sustainable development through the GoldBod initiative.
Starting January 16, 2025, Sammy Gyamfi will oversee the creation of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), a key promise outlined in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 manifesto.
The GoldBod, spearheaded by the Minister for Finance, is a major priority for the Mahama government. It aims to revitalise the economy by ensuring the sustainable management and marketing of Ghana’s gold resources for the benefit of its citizens. The board will also focus on formalising the small-scale gold mining sector and providing essential support services for the industry.
