Written by Sarah Boye

President-elect John Dramani Mahama has praised Ghana’s democracy for its resilience and stability after the recent elections.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, December 11, Mahama highlighted the smooth electoral process and called for bipartisan efforts to further strengthen the country’s democratic foundations. His message followed a meeting with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House in Accra.

“Democracy and Ghana have emerged as the real winners of this electoral process. Despite the anxieties before the election and on voting day, Ghana has once again proven its strength.

“Our democracy is secure, and by uniting across party lines, we can continue to deepen and consolidate it,” Mahama stated.
