The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, has affirmed that his party is ready to tackle Ghana’s economic challenges.
During a campaign stop, Mahama underscored the NDC’s record of implementing policies that alleviate the hardships of the people. He acknowledged that while his administration faced its own challenges, the conditions during his time in office were considerably better than the current situation.
“We have the experience, and we’ve done it before. I won’t say everything was perfect when we were in government, but it was certainly better than what we’re seeing now,” Mahama remarked.
He further ridiculed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) efforts to break the 8-year electoral cycle, pointing to his placement as number 8 on the ballot.
“They talk about breaking the 8, but I’m holding it tightly. Let them try and break it,” he quipped, expressing his satisfaction with the ballot number.
