Actress Lydia Forson has emerged the best Actress at the just ended Sotigui Awards in Ghana’s neighboring Country, Burkina Faso.
The award scheme which aims at awarding excellency named the Ghanaian actress as the best female actor in the 2022 on a wrap.
Lydia on her Instagram page has shared gratitude to the organisers when she unveil the golden plaque she had received.
She writes “Just received my award for best actress at the Sotigui Awards 2022 in Ouagadougou for Borga The Movie. So sad I couldn’t be there but I am honored that the Legendary Akofa was there to receive it on my behalf. What a year its been but God continues to smile on me”.
Lydia Forson is a Ghanaian actress, writer, and producer.
In 2010 she won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
Forson’s acting career started with a cameo role in Hotel St. James – 2005, Run Baby Run in 2006, Different Shades of Blue in 2007 and a stint in the reality show The Next Movie Star in Nigeria as at 2007.
Shirley Frimpong-Manso, CEO of Sparrow Productions, who had previously worked with her in the Ghanaian television series Different Shades of Blue, brought Forson back to the screens through the movie Scorned.
This starring role led to her first African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) nomination as the Best Upcoming Female Actress.
In 2009, Forson starred in the award-winning The Perfect Picture by Shirley Frimpong-Manso.
She has starred in A Sting in a Tale, Phone Swap, Masquerade, Keteke and Side Chick Gang.
