Some Concerned residents in the Ledzokuku Municipal Constituency have opposed the relocation and rehabilitation of the Teshie Community Clinic.
At a press conference on Thursday, November 7, some indigenous people raised concerns about the availability of funds, the approval process, and the scope of the proposed rehabilitation project. Moreover, they also vowed to resist any attempt by the Assembly or the Ministry of Health to demolish the clinic without a clear reconstruction plan.
This opposition follows a leaked letter revealing that sector minister Dr Bernard Okoe Boye has instructed the clinic’s management to relocate to allow for the rehabilitation.
“Teshie’s growing population has significantly strained the facility, making it unable to meet the community’s healthcare needs. The rehabilitation is to address safety concerns and improve the clinic’s capacity to serve residents.” Part of the letter read
