The lawyer for Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, strongly affirmed her client’s innocence in the accident that killed a three-year-old boy.
Margaret Mary Adjei Twum confidently stated that her client would not face prosecution as the court awaited advice from the Attorney General’s office. She emphasised that Lil Win was not at fault in the incident.
Authorities arrested Kwadwo Nkansah on June 3, 2024, in connection with the accident involving a vehicle he was driving, which tragically led to the child’s death.
The Asokore Mampong district court subsequently released him on a 50,000 Ghana Cedis bail with two sureties.
During a previous court hearing, the prosecution informed the court that they had sent the case docket to the Attorney General’s office for review. On July 29, 2024, the court noted that the docket was still under review.
After the court proceedings, Margaret Mary Adjei Twum highlighted the negative impact the incident had on the actor due to the negative publicity surrounding it.
“The incident has really affected him. The negative media coverage and comments have also impacted the movie ‘A Country Called Ghana.’
However, we acknowledge that a life was lost. The focus on being reasonable and pray for comfort and closure for the deceased’s family is paramount. It’s not about the money; we hope the family members find healing and peace.”
“We will continue to defend Lil Win’s innocence. We believe in his innocence until proven otherwise and will adjust our approach based on the Attorney General’s report.”
