Media personality MC Portfolio has emphasised that the lack of visually engaging content can damage an artist’s image, following claims that music videos are no longer relevant.
In a recent interview, MC Portfolio expressed concerns about the role of music videos in modern artistry.
“Not having a music video is not professional work. In a competitive market, the absence of visually engaging content can hinder an artist’s image and their ability to position themselves as serious creatives.”
Further, he argued that failing to produce music videos prevents artists from gaining the respect and attention they deserve from potential investors.
“It doesn’t give you the kind of reverence that you need to put on your brand,” he added.
Earlier, BullGod, an artist manager advised musicians to avoid spending money on music videos, arguing that they are no longer commercially viable and that audiences aren’t consuming video content as they once did.
