Black Stars AFCON captain Mohammed Kudus has issued an apology to Ghanaians following the team’s disappointing performances against Sudan in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
In his statement, he said:
“On behalf of the entire team, I sincerely apologise to the people of Ghana for our recent performances against Sudan in Accra and Libya. We pledge to learn from our mistakes, regrouping, and working hard to restore the Black Stars to their former glory”
The match ended in a 0-0 draw, with both Kudus and the Black Stars missing several opportunities to secure a win.
In the return leg, Ghana endure a 2-0 defeat, significantly damaging their chances of qualifying for AFCON 2025, having only accumulate two points from four group games.
Kudus captained the Black Stars for the first time in the absence of Thomas Partey during the match against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10.
