The management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has refuted claims that any deaths occurred at the Renal Dialysis Unit due to a shortage of dialysis supplies.
In an official statement, the hospital dismissed the alleged deaths of 20 renal patients, attributing the inaccurate reports to a misinterpreted media flyer and exaggerated social media commentary, particularly on Facebook.
The statement emphasised that no evidence supports the claim that 20 renal patients died this year because of the shortage.
Further, addressing allegations of unpaid debts, KBTH clarified that the Ministry of Health has settled all outstanding payments to suppliers and denied owing GH6 million, as falsely reported.
