A former employee of Kanye West, Lauren Pisciotta, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, documenting occurrences she alleges happened while working at West’s firm, Yeezy.
Hired as a project manager in early 2023, Miss Pisciotta claims Mr West made improper comments, engaged in unwanted physical contact, and created a work atmosphere that tolerated and encouraged such behaviour.
In a statement by the legal team for the complaint, Miss Pisciotta suffered repeated and horrific acts of sexual harassment by Mr. West while working with him.
The lawsuit details a specific occasion where West reportedly made explicit remarks about Pisciotta’s appearance and made unwanted physical advances during a private meeting he went with her under the guise of discussing work-related issues.
She asserts that her refusal to comply with West’s demands led to her marginalisation within the firm, eventually resulting in her resignation.
“Miss Pisciotta is suing West and his Yeezy businesses for fraud, unpaid wages, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, despite her efforts to resolve these concerns internally, which were ignored.”
However, Mr. West’s team disputed the charges, describing them as baseless and an attempt to destroy his character since West Enterprise has a rigorous policy against harassment of any type.
As the case moves forward, both sides are bracing for a highly publicised and contentious judicial battle.
Pisciotta seeks damages for emotional distress, lost wages, and punitive damages to hold West accountable for his alleged actions, since this is not the first time the rapper has been accused of lewd according to reports.
The first court session is set for later this month, where both parties will present their opening arguments.
