President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Justina Nelson as the acting chief executive officer (CEO) of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF), effective immediately.
This follows his decision on Tuesday, January 14, to revoke Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng’s appointment as CEO.
The revocation letter, signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, directed Koranteng to hand over his responsibilities to Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, the government’s representative at the Ministry of Finance.
Further, Ato Forson will oversee the fund until a permanent CEO is choose .
Ms. Nelson, a group head at Zenith Bank, brings a wealth of experience in the mining and finance sectors, having held senior positions in both public and private organisations.
The Presidency confirmed her appointment, which aligns with Article 195 (1) of the Constitution and Section 21 (2) of the MIIF Act, 2018. Nelson holds a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law, an MBA in Marketing, and degrees in Law and Management/Psychology.
