Majors, the protagonist of the recently released “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania,” was allegedly engaged in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman, according to New York City police. Around 11 a.m., police were called to a 911 call made inside an apartment in the Chelsea district of Manhattan.
“The victim informed police that she had been assaulted,” an NYPD spokesperson said in a statement. “Officers apprehended the 33-year-old male without incident. ” The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition after suffering from a slight head and neck injuries
As of Saturday night, he was no longer in police custody, an NYPD spokesperson verified to The Associated Press.
Majors’ representative refuted any wrongdoing on his behalf. “He has done nothing wrong,” the representative told the AP in an email on Saturday. “We’re looking forward to clearing his name and putting this behind us.”
Majors is one of Hollywood’s newest rising talents. Majors has featured in “Da 5 Bloods,” “The Harder They Fall,” and last year’s “Devotion” since his breakthrough performance in “The Last Black Man in San Francisco” in 2019. In addition, he features in “Magazine Dreams,” a Sundance Film Festival entry that Searchlight Pictures will release in December.
