Janice Small Combs, the mother of Sean “Diddy” Combs, has express her deep devastation and profound sadness over the allegations against her son, labeling them as lies.
In a statement released through her lawyer, Natalie G. Figgers, she defends Diddy, acknowledging his past mistakes, and asserted that he is not the monster he has been portrayed as. She clarified that she does not intend to portray her son as flawless but he may not have been entirely truthful about certain past actions, particularly regarding his denial of violence against an ex-girlfriend, which video evidence contradicted.
Reports indicate that since last year, Diddy has faced a series of legal troubles, beginning when his former partner, Cassie Ventura, accused him of rape and abuse. He denied these allegations, which led to an out-of-court settlement.
Following this, he encountered lawsuits from 12 other women, many of whom accused him of drugging and assaulting them.
Further in March, federal agents raided his properties as part of a criminal investigation, and in May, a video surfaced showing Diddy physically assaulting Ventura in a hotel room in 2016.
She emphasized the difficulty of separating truth from lies, especially when the truth is complex. She speculated that this complexity may have influenced Diddy’s legal team to settle the lawsuit with his ex-girlfriend, a decision that prosecutors interpreted as an admission of guilt.
Diddy has taken responsibility for his actions in the video and expressed disgust with his behavior. He will appear in court on Wednesday, October 9, where his lawyers will seek bail.Authorities previously denied him bail due to concerns that he posed a significant risk to the upcoming trial.
