The presidential candidate for the People’s National Party (PNP), Janet Asana Nabla announced that she will not contest her disqualification from the December election in court.
In a statement on Thursday, the PNP voiced its disagreement with the Electoral Commission’s (EC) decision but confirmed that Nabla would not seek legal redress. “After consulting members nationwide, the party has chosen to move forward and focus on securing its final certification to operate as a fully recognised political party,” the statement read.
The PNP emphasised its broader role in educating citizens on political issues, government policies, and their impact on society, beyond just contesting elections.
The EC disqualified Nabla for failing to correct errors in her nomination form.
