Jane Doe Sues Jay-Z And Diddy For Rape In The 2000’s

Written by Sarah Boye

Attorney Tony Buzbee has accused rapper and music mogul Jay-Z, known privately as Sean Carter, of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs, according to *Billboard*.

The allegations, filed on Sunday in a New York federal court on behalf of Jane Doe, claim Jay-Z and Combs assaulted the victim at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

Lawsuit Details
The lawsuit alleges that Jay-Z and Combs drugged the victim, gave her a drink that made her feel “woozy” and “lightheaded,” and then assaulted her. It also claims they forced her to sign a non-disclosure agreement. According to the filing, another celebrity witnessed the assault but did nothing to stop it, and others at the party also failed to intervene.

Jay-Z Denies Allegations, Accuses Lawyer of Extortion
Jay-Z rejected the allegations in a Sunday statement, describing the lawsuit as an attempt to extort money. He criticised Buzbee, calling him a “fraud” and accusing him of exploiting victims for personal gain. Jay-Z vowed not to settle and promised to fight the claims publicly.

“You made a terrible error in judgement by thinking all celebrities are the same. I’m from Brooklyn, where we protect children and follow strict codes of honor. Your claims, if not for their seriousness, would be laughable,” Jay-Z stated, as reported by *Billboard*.

Context of the Case

This lawsuit updates an earlier case that initially named only Sean Combs. It adds to a series of accusations against Combs, including a September federal indictment accusing him of running a criminal operation to fulfil his sexual desires. Jay-Z has expressed his commitment to exposing what he calls a “network of conspiracy theorists” behind the claims.
