Rapper J. Cole from America has expressed regret to his colleague Kendrick Lamar for making fun of him.
On “7 Minute Drill,” J. Cole retaliated against Lamar, claiming that “he fell off like the Simpsons” after the rapper dissed Cole and Drake on the song “Like That,” which featured him and Future and Metro Boomin.
Unexpectedly, J. Cole apologised to Lamar during his Sunday performance at the 2024 Dreamville Festival in North Carolina.
He also promised to take the diss track off streaming services.
J. Cole said, “I’m so proud of my latest project, ‘Might Delete Later,’ excerpt for one part. Is there one part of that sh*t that made me feel like that is the lamest sh*t I ever did in my f*cking life… I struggled with my spirit to put out Kendrick Lamar’s diss. That sh*t doesn’t sit right with my spirit. That sh*t disrupts my peace.
“What I want to say tonight is that in the midst of me doing that sh*t and downplaying this n*gga’s [Lamar’s] catalogue and his greatness, I want to say right now tonight, how many people think Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest to ever pick up a microphone?
“Dreamville, I love Kendrick Lamar. I pray that my n*gga [Lamar] didn’t feel bad. I haven’t been sleeping right the last few days…We taking that off streaming services.”
