Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, recently revealed that she has never been in love.
In an interview with Flow With Korty, the 28-year-old songstress explained that she believes love is a deliberate and conscious choice, not something experienced mindlessly.
Tems acknowledged that she hasn’t felt genuine love for anyone and suggested that people often mistake infatuation for love.
She stated,
“I haven’t been in love. Loving someone, for me, means seeing them clearly and still wanting to be in their life, despite any annoyances.
I want to experience something deep and real, not blind. True love is when you love someone with your eyes open.”
She emphasised that infatuation is often mistaken for love, saying,
“If you’re blind, that is not love.
Love is when you see the person completely and still want them. I want someone to see all of me and still choose me.”
