I’ve Given Up Smoking – Kelvynboy Says

Written by Louis

The well-known Ghanaian artist Kelvin Brown, also referred to as Kelvyn Boy, recently revealed on X that he had given up smoking.

The highlife and afrobeats musician addressed several common misunderstandings about smoking while making the statement. He has taken a lot of heat for smoking in his live recordings.

He pointed out in his post that some of the wealthiest and cleanest people he knows are smokers, defying the stereotype that smokers are dirty.

Besides stating that he has quit smoking, he advised his fans not to use drugs.

“Myth: Individuals who smoke are unclean and unruly…Perhaps then, but I know some of the wealthiest and most pristine people who smoke a lot. That concept is dead as of today.

Among the drugs that Ghanaian youth, especially those in the entertainment sector, frequently abuse include cocaine, alcohol, marijuana, and shisha.

The late OJ Blaq, Nasty of Lifeline Family fame, Kiki Gyan, Lord Kenya, and Okomfuor Kwadee are just a few Ghanaian singers who battled heroin addiction.

Gone with that thought for today. For crying out loud, your favorite musician smokes. However, I’ve given up. Guys, don’t do drugs,” he wrote.

The entertainment industry is rife with drug misuse and usage. While some have voiced opposition to the practice’s grave repercussions, others think that each person’s experience will be different.
