Interior Minister Henry Quartey has warned individuals planning to incite violence in Bawku ahead of the December 7 elections.
In an interview with JoyNews, Quartey confirmed that authorities have implemented robust security measures to protect residents and prevent disenfranchisement.
Further, he noted that Bawku’s ongoing security challenges have consistently prompted state and national security agencies to take steps to safeguard lives and property and maintain order.
Additionally, Mr. Quartey express confidence that security would be sufficient to allow Bawku residents to vote without interference, emphasizing that no one should be cease from voting.
“Every country must uphold law and order. Anyone who breaks the law will face consequences,” he stated.
His comments come amid continued concerns over the region’s security, raising doubts about the smooth conduct of the elections in Bawku.
