Written by Sarah Boye

The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) has announced that it will once again host its presidential and vice presidential debates ahead of Ghana’s 2024 general elections in December.

These debates aim to promote issue-based elections by providing a platform for candidates to discuss the nation’s development. During the debates, candidates will present their viewpoints, plans, and programmes while critiquing their opponents’ policies and proposing alternatives.

Moderators will pose questions sourced from the public on various topics, including the economy, governance, natural resources, agriculture, education, health, labour, gender, children, youth, and other social issues.

The IEA will reveal the debate schedule at the launch of its election activities. The IEA urges all candidates to use this opportunity to communicate their policies to address the country’s challenges to the electorate.
