Gospel musician and producer Nana Kwaku Osei, popularly known as Nacee, has highlighted inadequate payment for performances as a major factor affecting the financial success of gospel artists.
In an interview with GhanaWeb at the 2024 Praise Achievement Awards ceremony, Nacee criticised event organisers for underpaying gospel musicians for their performances. He argued that this practice weakens the growth of the gospel music industry.
“Most gospel musicians attend programs where event organisers don’t pay them what they deserve. This lack of financial support forces us to struggle more than we should,” he stated.
Nacee stressed that adequate financial backing would greatly enhance their ministry. “With strong financial support, we can accomplish so much more,” he concluded.
