“I Will Never Sit In Minority Leader’s Seat”-Afenyo-Markin

Written by Sarah Boye

Majority Leader Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin has made it clear that he will never sit in the Minority Leader’s seat, citing spiritual reasons.

In an interview, he explained that taking the minority leader’s position would symbolically place his caucus in a minority role, which he refuses to do because of its negative political and spiritual implications.

Afenyo-Markin called on the Speaker of Parliament to take action and ensure that NDC Members of Parliament return to their designated seats, restoring order in the House.

With the general election just three weeks away, he stressed that it would be both unwise and inappropriate for him to occupy that seat.

His comments reflect growing political tensions in Parliament as the December election approaches.
